History

Goodwill Industries of KYOWVA Area, Inc. was founded in 1973 with one goal: to help people in need. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization and are headquartered in Huntington, West Virginia. Our mission is to empower people to overcome employment barriers and provide life enrichment tools and resources to strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

What started as a program to help people with disabilities get jobs has grown into 10 retail stores, an online store, an employment and training facility, consumer credit counseling, mental health counseling, recycling center, and much more. Revenue from our retail locations directly funds these mission services.

We currently have retail locations in Huntington, Lavalette, Barboursville, and Milton in West Virginia and Ashland, Cannonsburg, Grayson, and Louisa in Kentucky. We are proud to have served our local community for the last 50 years!
