Kayle

Kayle graduated from Huntington High School in 2020 and began college at Mountwest. She was referred to Goodwill to gain real-world work and life experience before entering the workforce. Kayle has such a fun and bubbly personality. Kayle is in Goodwill of KYOWVA's Work Adjustment and Life Skills programs. She has learned important skills like computer skills, how to do her own taxes, cooking, budgeting, and other skills. She works in our Virginia Avenue retail store as part of her program, so she has learned the ins and outs of store operations. An average day for Kayle looks like clocking in and making her coffee and receiving her daily work assignment from her instructor, Deloris. She does her life skills classes in the afternoon, so she has a packed day! She says she prefers being busy and her favorite skill she has learned is cooking. She has promised to cook for our monthly board meeting this month, and we are holding her to it. Her favorite dishes include steak, chicken, waffles, french toast, spaghetti, cakes, and mashed potatoes. Kayle says that Goodwill has taught her real-world skills and expectations so she can thrive and be independent. Outside of work, she enjoys sitting outside on her porch while drinking coffee and listening to 80s music. Kayle is such a ray of sunshine and we love her passion for cooking and bettering herself.
